Product Targeting

Though very similar to keyword targeting, product targeting is a separate process. We've already discussed when you might do a Product campaign instead of a keyword campaign, now we'll show you what you do with the products you want to target!

Check out our course Amazon Ads: Creating a Campaign for more on product targeting, including category product targeting.

FINDING ASINs

The ASIN is the Amazon Standard Identification Number. You'll need to have one for each individual product that you want to target in a campaign.

Want to know where the ASIN is hiding in a product's URL? Here are a few examples:

Couple of Notes:

  • Each of these links lead to the Something Old Product Detail Page on Amazon.
  • Depending on whether it's the ebook or paperback, the link will look different.
  • The link will also look different depending on how you were directed to the product detail page. All those extra numbers after the ASIN? They may just be telling Amazon how you got there!
  • If it's a physical copy of a book, the ASIN may just be the ISBN
